The Royal Air Force
celebrates its Centenary (plus 100 days) with its magnificent
Fly-Past, whilst the England football team seeks to maintain its
winning streak in Russia.
For the event, each and
every pilot had to choose the right throttle level and aero-surface 'angle of
attack' - whether with piston roar or jet scream, whether for oval, straight, swept or delta wing, whether single or double rotors, so as to orchestrate pitch-perfect their own tightly weaved formation patterns.
For the match, the operating formations of the team must alter to befit
the moment of play, but unlike their flying counterparts in aerial parade, their own wing-play
and 'angles of attack' will need to surprise with unexpected 'shock
and awe'.
Both arenas rely upon
the counter-force effect of high pressure and low pressure impetus
for an upward trajectory.
So in 2018....“Lift
that Trophy England”...and make the Squadron of 1918 proud once
again.
