As Britain seeks to re-make its mark on the global stage after BREXIT, England's 22 have set a very much needed new tone of internationalist fairness and mutual respect.

The way in which Eric Dier and Harry Maguire in the last portion of Extra Time simultaneously offered helping hands to a downed, cramp-laden Croation player said it all.

England has shown that 'old fashioned' values are able to take their place again at the vanguard of sports; and hopefully thereafter, within broader society.

If Britain can export the 'Southgate Spirit' in all its future international commercial dealings, throughout Europe and far beyond,  it will be a win-win-win for England, Britain and the Rest of the World.
